For many years, I have been collecting my travel cards. I extracted from them these ID photos to create new images. The repetition of the same gesture on a photocopier transforms the portrait. The machine generates the work, but I decide when to stop the reproduction process.
Before being transformed, these images were captured by different devices, each carrying the name of the camera that generated them.
This series reveals the ambiguity between mechanical and creative gestures—those linked to the machine and those linked to the artist.
