The Shower, 2018. Video, 5'09 min.

The action takes place in the showers of a locker room.
I first decided to meticulously redraw with charcoal all the small floor tiles that had been erased by time and wear, for several hours.

Then, once the work was completed, I took a shower.

Installation presented as part of the end-of-residency restitution for Summer Camp.

The viewer is first called by the sound of running water before entering the locker room and heading towards the shower.
There, they can see traces of charcoal on the floor, residues of an action that has already taken place. In the corner of the room, at the extreme opposite end from the viewer, a video plays on a screen that is too small to fully see the images from the shower entrance.
The viewer is thus invited by the setup to physically enter the shower, and once inside, to crouch down in order to properly view the images as well as the floor, which still bears traces of my presence.
